Books I’d like to review.
I recently received an Arts Council award to research a novel. Part of the funding also includes reviewing books set in Devon, Cornwall or Somerset, as well as books written by authors who live in these counties. If you are an author interested in review and your book fits these criteria, please email me on lpglassATgooglemail.DOT.com.

Lisa Glass is the author of Prince Rupert’s Teardrop, a dark literary detective novel. Actually, that’s a rubbish way of advertising it. How about: For a head-bending battle between a serial killer and an eccentric, slightly-unhinged, fifty-something heroine – check out Lisa Glass’s surreal literary thriller, Prince Rupert’s Teardrop, published by Two Ravens Press.
Better? Hmm, PRT is a book that’s not easily characterised (as many publishers liked to tell my agent, with a knowing look). That’s because it’s KICK ASS. Oh yes, it is the kind of book that will warp your mind and haunt your dreams. Sort of. It’s about mental illness (oh no, not mental illness!) but mental illness in a very cool, devil-may-care heroine. Who happens to be 58 and searching for her Armenian mother, who has disappeared at the ripe old age of 94. This would be a good time to mention that Prince Rupert’s Teardrop is also about the Armenian genocide. My mother’s family were Armenian genocide survivors, and this is a subject that is very important to me. So mental illness, recollections of the Armenian genocide and what else? Well, there is a serial killer. A chap named Rupert, who may or may not exist, depending on whether you believe the heroine, or not. Hell, I’ll admit it’s not your everyday tale of boy meets girl, but if you like your books dark, weird, and full of strange insights, then Prince Rupert’s Teardrop just might be for you.

Even better, you can now buy the book direct from the publisher for the bargain price of £5.99 with FREE U.K delivery. All of you have to do is click here.
