We’re back: cool, calm and collected, with a nice all over tan and a cocktail in paw. Well, some of us anyway. Some of us are still feeling rather frazzled and hectic. Holidays, after all, along with moving house and Christmas, are supposed to be some of the most stressful experiences we go through. (According to some very accurate and scientifically-rigorous old wives tale I heard somewhere.)
The schedule has changed slightly and you’ll have to wait a bit longer for Lisa’s interview with MJ Hyland and Nikki’s review of AS Byatt’s The Children’s Book. But these gems will be coming up later in the autumn, never fear. So, here is what we have for you for the rest of the week. Hope you enjoy!
Tuesday 1
Nikki, with great restraint, only reviews one book by Patrick Gale – Rough Music.
Wednesday 2
Sam remembers just how breathlessly compelling a good story can be as he reviews The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. At the same time he wonders whether books should come with health warnings.
Thursday 3
Lisa enjoys the nightmarish journey of Nick Cave’s The Death of Bunny Munro.
Friday 4
Rosy contemplates what makes a “big” book in her review of The Spare Room by Helen Garner.
Saturday 5
Eve continues with her fortnightly Sat slot reviewing children and teen novels.

Great to be back! Looking forward to your review of The Spare Room, Rosy, as I’ve heard so much about that book.
What a fluffy fox! And an amusing summation of those of us returning. lol
